The ENDURO DELUXE is not just a knock-off of the existing tour, the ENDURO. Its concept and routing is a novelty: it unparalleledly combines pure adventure and comfort. This tour is our first hotel-camping combinated tour.
The first section of the tour leads us from Castlemaine to Bendigo, which will be our first stop. We will have the opportunity to visit an old gold mine or the Chinese museum. From here, our way goes north to Echuca, most famous for its paddle steamers. Before continuing our trip, you can have lunch here, visit the historic port or take a cruise on a paddle steamer. We will stay in Swan Hill.
Starting from Swan Hill, we will leave civilisation behind us and go our first offroad-stretch after Mildura. The first indications of the outback can be found in charming Pooncarie, where we will pitch our tents tonight.
After our first night in the outback, we take off to Broken Hill. As we will only have to drive 230 km today, we will reach Broken Hill right for lunch, so that there will be enough time to visit Silverton, where Mad Max is still present, or just relax at the pool. You should not miss the sunset at Living Desert / Sculpture Park in the evening.
Tibooburra is our destination for today, where again a real bed awaits us. While driving, it becomes more and more evident what it means to live in the outback. When reaching our destination, you may ask yourself, “Why is there a boat on four poles in the heart of township Tibooburra?” We can surely explore this question in the local pub during the evening.
We are heading to Innamincka. The offroad track will give us an understanding of Australian history. This night we will have our first bush camp. Isolated from civilisation we will enjoy pure outback.
Perfectly run in from yesterday, we will proceed through the outback today. On our way to Birdsville, we will again have a bush camp near Cordillo Downs tonight and will enjoy the starred outback skies by campfire, tent and bike.
Birdsville, with its legendary pub, seems to appear from the middle of nowhere today. We will pitch our tents right in the heart of town.
A 382 km drive takes us from Birdsville to Bouila, where we will be welcomed with a good bed and even an indoor pool in the desert.
From Boulia we follow 350 km outback tracks to the ghost town of Jervoise where will pitch our tents for tonight.
This day will take us after days in the outback back to civilisation, more precisely to the heart of the outback Alice Springs. This fascinating city in the middle of nowhere will captivate you instantly. Sleeping relaxed in a comfortable bed we can expect the adventures of the next day.
Day 11 is another day off and can be planned individually. Standley Chasm and Simpsons Gap should top your agenda as well as the Royal Flying Doctor Service or just relaxing at the pool. But Alice Springs has against all expectations also some very exciting motorcycle trips to offer.
Off we go the nextg highlight: Uluru (Ayers Rock). After a 440 km ride we will reach this Aboriginal sanctuary. After having made ourselves comfortable you should not miss the sunset at Uluru.
Today is another day off and you have to decide what to do... perhaps a scenic helicopter flight or a visit of Kata Tjuta or the Aboriginal Information Centre or a guided tour around the Rock...?
Today we are heading south. Today's stretch, with 528 km the longest of the tour, will take us over an offroad track back to the Stuart Highway. We will pitch our tents in Marla tonight.
From Marla we take a short way round to Coober Pedy. We follow the Oodnadatta track, a fascinatin track, which will take us directly to Coober Pedy, where we will go underground.
Coober Pedy and surroundings take their time to explore and we will have plenty of time today. There is much to see and to do and to get the best idea you should take one of the many guided bus tours offered. Our tour guides will of course be there to give you individual advice. How about the Breakaways - set to one of the Mad Max movies - or the only golf course of the world without any grass or the dingo fence, the longest fence of the world?
After exciting Coober Pedy we go bush again and follow on 420 km the Oodnadatta track and Birdsville track to Farina where we will pitch our tents for tonight.
From Farina it is only about 190 km to Wilpena in the heart of the Flinders Ranges. This will give you enough time to explore this unique landscape.
From Wilpena we will go through some interesting little towns today before reaching Waikerie, our stop for tonight.
From Waikerie it is about 455 km via Nhill to Horsham. And with that we are back in Victoria.
The last day takes us from Horsham via Gariwerd - Grampians National Park back to Castlemaine.
